    You might be interested in something like this. I just received mine a few weeks ago, in the green, and it is delightful. Do be aware that it is cut exactly to the measurements you provide, and the vest is tailored with the adjustment strap already set to fully expanded (in other words, you can lose weight, but not gain it, if you expect the vest to accommodate any weight fluctuations.) The tweed used in these jackets is gorgeous, and rich in color.

    I am not suggesting that you buy this jacket, though it might work for you to have it converted. I AM suggesting that this is a good fabric and color for almost any tartan. The silk fabric is lighter and works in a wider range of climates, assuming you aren't worried about keeping warm. The barleycorn tweed gives you some texture without adding a troublesome pattern. And the wheat-honey-whisky color tone is hard to beat:
