			Friends, Lend me your ears

It has been quite sometime since I have posted School has been consuming my life, the majority being devoted to Calculus Anyways, here comes the on topic part....
I will be going to my schools homecoming dance quite soon, and will be kilted. I have a Blackwatch kilt to wear and most of the stuff to go with it. I don't plan on wearing a jacket with the outfit. The issues I have are 1) Would a white dress shirt and plain black tie look good, or would something else suit it better? ( no tartan ties) 2)Do I really need to wear a belt? Anything else you can think of to suggest would be appreciated....Thanks in advance fellas.

If you have a waistcoat that can look nice without a jacket. Black tie would be fine, light blue also looks nice.

for home coming I would get a nice Sporran and a nice belt and a plain time should work but if you are wearing a high waisted Kilt the time may be hard to Tie short. just a thought. I think getting a Bow tie would be cool. Thats just Me.

In have a black watch kilt and it fits me just grand. I'm often seen in a plain white dress shirt with a tie that matches one of the colours of the tartan. The blue works well. Day sporran, white hose or blue hose. I don't like the black hose with the Black watch. The kilt fits me so well that I don't care to wear the belt. It seems to gather the fabric and I'm always hoisting it(the belt that is) up no matter how tight it is.

Sounds good Jack, I would try and find a black vest to go over the shirt. It just gives it a little something extra. Most suit stores will sell them, or you can usually pick up a used one from a tuxedo rental shop.
Check out what Andrew wore to our buddies wedding. I have purchased a similar vest. Just tops it up.

I would suggest that hat ever you choose, keep it simple and let the kilt make your statement.
 I like Robert's suggestions.
