I did hope you would join the group, as probably the only full time kilted Welshman.

    I'm in also.

I grew up hearing all about my Scottish heritage on my father's side. It rather drowned out hearing anything about the Welsh on my mother's side. It's crossed my mind recently that I need to learn more about that.

Thought for years that my family was English. One of dad's cousins did a history and discovered we are Welsh. So glad too. Have a great week every one.

In many cultures the matriachal lineage is followed and most important. In my case, I was closer to my mothers side of the family, so it makes more sense to me, especially when you have a father who gave you nothing but a surname.

Welcome aboard, you will have to get a Welsh cilt next then.

    Mel,

I wanted to get a Phillips of Wales tartan, still do, but it started at $150.00 more. I could not get that one, so I got the Celtic Nations. I am early awaiting it to arrive. And from what I saw in the add, it is a beautiful sight.

    Thanks, Tom

I haven't heard of Welsh cilts before. Interesting. Does that just mean a Welsh tartan, or is there more to it?

Celtic Nations is an amazing tartan! I wear mine nearly as much as my other four kilts combined.

Well there are Welsh family plaids but they were only designed about 12 years ago. They are woven by a mill in Wales and are 14oz wool. The cilt is also hemmed. There is no k in the Welsh language, hence the spelling.
