    Version 2.1

So I ground down the protruding metal on the bolster with a bit I already had that was similar enough to Mike's. It took a long time, so perhaps it wasn't the exact tool for the job but I got it done. I followed the grinder bit with a file, then sand paper and then steel wool to smooth and polish everything.

    Before:

This is what I ended up with:

    comparison of particulars

I just finished my own DIY project. I had a bit of goat horn, an extra Tiger's eye stone and some errant copper wire around the house, OH! and a bit too much time on my hands. I order a blank and began "K-niffing" as my brother calls it. The sheath is hollowed out poplar with a deer hide cover. My problem is the weight, as she is bit heavy in the stern, I keep her within my jacket compartment. How is the weight and balance of your lovely blade? IMG_0878.jpgIMG_0879.jpgIMG_0884.jpg
