    I always enjoy seeing your new creations Scott. I'm interested to know if you do the heart piercings using a die. They look very accurate and uniform. Keep up the great work! I'm anxious to see some engraving.

    No Die, they are hand cut using a jeweler's saw and finished with files. Having dies made for each individual project would be immensely expensive and time consuming (not that sawing all those hearts out wasn't time consuming )

    I know what you mean about time consuming. When I did my wedding sporran I cut a fancy profile on the cantle and it did take quite a lot of cutting, grinding and filing to get it done. One thing that might help with the layout would be to make a drill pattern template of the heart in a piece of steel. It would take out some of the measuring and make repeating consistency of the feature a little easier. Plus, once you have it you can use it on future pieces.
