			Kilt Pin Rules

I currently have a kilt pin on all my kilts except my sport kilt and the my traditional that arrived yesterday.
I was wearing the new kilt last night and I thought that it look just fine without a pin. As a matter of fact when I received my MacGregor I prefered it without a pin, but I put one on (bahhhhhh).

Are there any rules, regulations, guidelines or accepted practises with pin.

OR, shall I do as I usually? That is, what ever I feel like.

Far as I know there's no rule that says you must use a kilt pin. If you like it better without, do it that way.

					The "rule" is pretty simple:
If your kilt's gonna fly-up in a breeze, or is made out of a thin material that might have it raising when you turn... have the decency to wear a kilt pin on the front apron to weigh it down. You do not connect the front and lower aprons, unless the situation is drastically windy. Usually the weight of the pin will hold the apron down enough.

It's not so much a matter of fashion, as much as it's a need for common courtesy in "pleat lifting" conditions.

I wear the Laundry pin i got in boot camp. it is the only thing I have found that has some weight to it. Mostof the Kilt pins i have seen are light and are little more then a little flash on the edge of my appron.

			Re: Kilt Pin Rules

The only kiltpin rule that I'm aware of is to place the pin roughly 1.5 inches in and up from the open corner. I was corrected on this point quite some time ago.
