Evolution of Scottish National Dress in vintage catalog illustrations

After 11 attempts to register here under different names, we now have enough evidence to confirm that this is again Steven Aikens of Jasper AL. This time using an IP proxy in an attempt to hide his real location.

Makes me feel distinctly under-dressed! Interesting that (in the Forsyth catalogue) the hose are all tartan, matching the kilt.
    Interesting stuff. Thanks for posting.

Cracking images! Thanks for sharing. I have several vintage R.W. Forsyth catalogues in my personal collection. I absolutely love the illustrations (clean, simple format) of traditional Highland Dress, and how certain things have evolved/changed slightly through the years. However, I will mention that I'm not too fond of the spats, as well as the wearing of bar and buckle brogues and dirk with Highland day attire (tweed and plaid).

    Cheers,

It's very interesting to see the incremental changes over the years. Thanks!
