    To get a good fit there are very few straight lines to the body so shoulder slope and such needs to be fit. It's easier to get the right fit with 3 or 4 pieces than with oneLook at a shirt or jacket pattern sometime. You'll see what I mean. There are quite a few complex curves.

    One addition, if you want an Argyll type jacket get the Simplicity pattern number 5029. Watch your local fabric stores for sales on patterns. I got it for 99 cents at Hancock Fabrics during one of their holiday sales when all Simplicity patterns were 99 cents. Regular price is $16.95.
