A media event was held today to announce a new permanent home for The Great Tapestry of Scotland, which will be adjacent to the new railway station at Tweedbank.
The Great Tapestry of Scotland tells the history of Scotland over the last 2,000 years and was created by a thousand stitchers from all over the country.
£10,000,000 is to be spent on the new building for the Tapestry and enhanced railway facilities to support steam hauled excursion trains which will bring tourists from Edinburgh to visit the Tapestry so our local railway society was invited along. Our local and national politicians were keen to borrow our train headboard for a photocall:-

The re-opened Waverley Route railway will bring tourists to Tweedbank to visit The Great Scottish Tapestry in its new home.

This Lamp Could be Useful
Believe it or not, I was the only one wearing a kilt.
Shankend is a small hamlet where there is access to scenic walks in the Southern Uplands. Connecting buses are proposed to link Tweedbank railway station with Shankend.
