If the colours come out as well as they have the potential to Im very interested.

I sent a PM to Alan with the preliminary design then made a change, as Alan thought it looked good I figured I would put the design up here for others to see.

I picked the colours from the Wildcat itself the brown black and white for the fur and the greed for the eyes, I tried to keep the percentage of colour in the tartan approximately the same as in the cat itself.

Disregard my last post. I can support McMurdo's color scheme as a tartan. Well done and count me in when the time arises for a product.

I like it and its close, to my eyes, but would suggest a double black where the singles are. It's a bit more "cougar" than "wildcat" IMHO with the large amount of light brown. Just throwing out there to think about adding a wee bit of yellow to get those "gold" tones. See OC Richards Blue & Gold tartan thread for discussion of "gold" in tartan.

David's posted photo above captures the camouflage nature of the Wildcat's coat. Reminds me of the Vietnam era "Tigerstripe" camo.

Here it is with a bit of gold and double black rather single black lines

A description of color and pattern has been and will remain my intention.

We are discussing the Scottish Wildcat here, and not a domesticated house cat. There are differences.
