I still have my Raleigh Blue Streak, now 54 years old, but in bad need of some tlc. Problem is that it is really hard work these days on the hills around here so I find my Kona but more user friendly.
If you are going to do it, do it in a kilt!

I road mine around for years then brought it to Canada and was quite confused that the headlight was on the wrong side. Someone recognized a good thing and it was stolen soon after. I hope whoever is riding it now does not ride it at night.

Dumb question - but does anyone think the picture was reversed? Wouldn't the fly plaid or "sash" be worn over the opposite shoulder as what's pictured?

Hmm, that's a thought. I tried a horizontal flip bit the logo on the chain guard looks right the way it is and wrong flipped. That said, it isn't very clear.

It likely wouldn't make much difference. Sashes are generally considered for the "fairer" sex.

Haven't been able to see the original pictures, but however expensive the bike is I'm never going to break any records, so I'll happily stick with my 18 yo Kona, recently upgraded to a front disc (to eliminate some of the brake squeal) and Raleigh, regrettably with only 5 gears.
If you are going to do it, do it in a kilt!
