Be your own judge, here is a link to kilt pricing list for Geoffrey (Tailor)

Thanks for the link....if it was indeed made by them, and even if it's the 12oz wool casual kilt, the price converted to US dollars means I paid less for all three of these than a new one from them! Of course these are used so I've got to take that into account. ...

I would be greatly surprised if any of the three are not wool. I have only seen a synthetic kilt in the first (Hunting Stewart) but have never seen a synthetic kilt in the other two tartans. If that is the case, and they are in good shape, you did good on the price!

I've not seen this tartan in synthetic either but the seller posted it as such....the first two are definitely wool as attested on the labels. All three should be here by this coming Friday and I'll know for certain about the third one!

the third one is definitely Stewart old sett in the modern colors. The first one is Stewart Hunting, modern colors also and has been said the middle one is also a Stewart but a Stewart of Appin. Looks to me if they are all in good condition and fit you that you got an excellent deal.

After Downunder Kilt posted the link to Geoffrey yesterday I sent an inquiry with pics to them asking if the kilt was one of theirs, received a response this morning from a gracious gentleman by the name of John Webster. ...this is his response:

    Hello John,

The kilt is modern hunting Stewart; it is an 8 yard hand sewn kilt in a medium weight cloth. The kilt you have retails at £425 if you were to buy the equivalent today, it is one of ours.

This is about all the info I can give you, except to say that this kilt is at least 1994 or before as the new phone number with the 1 took place in that year.

I hope this is useful to you.

    Thank you,

    John Webster

So it seems I have a very nice kilt (in addition to the other two which look very nice in and of themselves) on its way to me and I can only hope it (they) are in as good a condition as described!
