There will be a Clan Sinclair tent at the Charleston Games, but it will be staffed by our South Carolina commissioner. I will not be able to attend. I will be convening for Clan Sinclair at the Scotland County Highland Games in Laurinburg, NC on Saturday, October 4. If you can attend, please stop by our tent for a visit and a wee dram of Old Pulteney 12.

I wasn't a Drill Sergeant, but I heard them early in the morning. I was there 1968-70, a busy time. My duty was at the hospital.

Welcome to XMTS! My surname is also western European derived, being Huguenot. I trace my dad's family back to eastern France in the 1500's, then southwestern Germany, then the New World in 1749. My dad's mom was a full-blooded Scot, so there ya go!
Enjoy civilian life, and best of luck at university!

Do you happen to know what happened to the "Loch" Hartwell highland games? I went several years ago, but can't seem to find any info. Their old url appears to have been taken over by squatters from off.
Yeah, It's pretty up here. You almost have to own a motorcycle if you're going to live here!. I've only been up here a little over 3 years, and I'm completely unfamiliar with any games in Hartwell. The big one down here is down in Stone Mountain in October.

Hi John and a warm welcome from sunny Queensland!
Good luck with your work for the veterans mental health initiative, a very worthy cause. And with your studies, of course!
Regards, Sav.

John, without any disrespect to Hawk about his knowledge of his own Scot/heritage beginnings, I can say with certainty the North Carolina Calhouns didn't have far to travel to get into your neighborhood. We "Ingrams" from High Point, NC are members of the Clan Colquhoun and damn proud of it. Just ask us.
