Your kilt has a lot of fun rolling about in the grass and climbing trees . Must be a young kilt I think .

Well, I managed to pull off the surprise. Amy thought I might have had something in the works but never in a million years would have guessed it was this. The Unipiper started playing a ways off in the park, opening with the theme from Game of Thrones as he approached, then Dear Old Donegal, with Green Hills of Tyrol to cue the officiant to come out. Even when she handed Amy a big, beautiful bouquet she couldn't believe what was going on. I think when it finally registered that I'd planned all this with all these people you could have knocked my dear wife over with a feather.

Any suggestion to dress up would have tipped her off, so I wore my fabulous Vitruvian Weeping Angel t shirt and well loved jump boots along with the Graham kilt. I don't have photos yet and therefore can't prove any of this happened, so I'm trying to sweet talk some iphone photos out of our celebrant while we wait for photo and video from the photographers.

The vows are kind of a big blur, just like when we first got married, and there were plenty of Doctor Who references. When we were done the piper played some more - Scotland the Brave, 79th's Farewell to Gibraltar, another tune I whose name I forget, and he wrapped up with The Black Bear. There was one small hiccup. It didn't occur to me to tell my co-consiprators that there's not a pause between tunes, so things didn't sync up quite as planned in the beginning. Apparently there are people in the world who aren't into bagpipe music and don't know these things. No matter though, because it was so completely fantastic and my wife was very, very happy.
