Interesting thistle photo

Thought I would share this shot taken by a photographer friend of mine. It was taken in Washington`s North Cascade mountains, but gee, reminds me of Scotland for some reason. My initial thought on seeing it was "say a prayer for Scotland."

Thanks @ChuckTN. Those are some nice shots you took as well. My friend is a very dedicated amateur, he told me that was one of the quickest shots he`s ever taken, and as soon as the shutter clicked the butterflies were gone.

Great images! Earlier this summer the thistle were blooming in big patches spread along my favorite walking trail through the woods behind my house

I never bring a camera on walks so sadly the bloom was missed.

I always have one thought when I see thistles... its gotta hurt like heck to fall into that bad boy, ours grow to over 3 feet tall.
