Personally, I love to be argumentative; however, in this case I was not trying to be exclusive or claim that only Presbyterians follow this tradition. I made the comment in reference to this particular celebration at a Presbyterian Church from my denomination. As a matter of fact only one of the many Presbyterian churches I have attended or served observe this tradition or emphasize our historical connection to the Church of Scotland. While the Church of Scotland settled on a Presbyterian form of government, people from many faiths can claim spiritual roots from Scotland, from Roman Catholic, to Anglican, to members of free-churches as well as practitioners of various Celtic or Pagan religions. I did not mean to imply that Presbyterians had some monopoly on Scottish roots or traditions. While I believe that my Presbyterian heritage ties me in some way to Scotland, at the end of the day I am just a Presbyterian who likes to wear a kilt.
