I'll be pretty busy between 12:00 and 2:00 with the Red Thistles at the St. Andrews Stage but hope to see my fellow X Markers 'round the MacNaughton Tent during the rest of the day!

    Cheers

Now then Jamie, just keep an eye on Alan when he is chucking those boulders and telegraph poles about, you might be more impressed than normal. Alan might just have taken note of my words of wisdom and may well have a completely new games beating style. It only took me a couple of minutes of careful scrutiny at the Inverness games for me to spot his problem and once I had identified it------he was standing far too near the boulder/pole, after he had thrown it------- it just took me a few seconds to put him right on a few things. So be prepared to make room for all the silverware that is coming Alans way!

Well I survived Day One and am up and ready to face Day Two. I think the Scots are wise, with their one-day Games.

The Pipes & Drums of The Scots Guards are here and put on quite a show both at the Host Hotel (the San Ramon Marriott) at out at the Games. It was nice to see them perform at the Games in their DPMs rather than the hella-hot Full Dress.

The weather wasn't too too bad, I think a hair under 90 but with a decent breeze in the afternoon.

Running around with the band as I was, and then when we were done competing watching all the other bands, made it impossible to get away to the MacNaughton tent, sorry. I did run into Sailor Tats, and I think he'll post a photo.

Very nice to have the Scots Guards and the brass band of the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing (with their amazing rope-tension drums) perform at the Massed Bands at the end of the day.

Hey I think I should also take a "for scale" pic with Panache! It could become an Xmarks 'thing'.

    Well here we are...

Our D's were terrible, other than that not too bad for Grade Four.

Really the best part of our band is the lead tip, a Glaswegian, our only Scot.
