I'll add a couple. We get thistles in our front yard or flower bed every couple of years. I let a few grow and bloom. Took these photos last week

A couple from a corner of the acre-sized backyard, where I let the thistles grow wild. Have you ever smelled thistles? Most, to me, smell sweeter than roses. Although, I found some on Vancouver Island that had no noticeable scent.

I think the thistle is pretty. Granted, it does look like something brought back from a Mars rover mission. I took these while on holiday in Scotland a few years back. At work, I showed the second picture to a work colleague. At which time I said "The bumble bees in Scotland are plaid, not striped". She was amazed! I know it isn't that funny, but i thought she was a bit more bright than that.
