And I also think it is a very good model of people working within the rules of the Forum without an attitude of "I'm taking my hockey puck and going home". The project had a nice start in the Forum, the moderators politely reminded us when we were skating too close to the rules (and it's easy to lose track of some of the rules), the originator of the thread worked within those rules to find a way to move the project forward and still keep Forum members in the loop, and Forum members were civil and did a pretty good job keeping the thread from being shut down. I would hate to lose this thread, too.

Circumstances prevented me from submitting an entry, unfortunately. When I am working from home, the office connection is incredibly slow, so anything with images in it takes an age to load.
So my congratulations to those who did submit entries, and eventually to the successful designer, whoever he may be.
I look forward to seeing pictures of the tartan.
    Regards,
    Mike

My vote definitely goes to the Jock Scot version #3.

While there is technically one more day to vote on the Tartan at FB, what with three more votes coming in for the Gray Jock Scot #2, and two in for the Jock Scot "weathered" #3.....Paul from Wildcat Haven has weighed in with his vote (via e-mail) for Jock Scot #2. That's ten votes (I gave Paul ten votes)...

So currently the standings are about 57 votes for "Jock Scot Variant #2"
about 17 votes for "Jock Scot Weathered Variant #3"
3 votes for Brown Variant #1

These vote tallies include those PM'd to me by interested XMTS members. Barring a highly unlikely turnaround today and tomorrow, I think we have a winner!

We have cost estimates from four weavers, of which (in my mind) three are possibilities: House of Edgar - Andrew Elliott Weavers - Bute Fabrics. Barb, myself and McMurdo will be making a decision on the weaver in the next few days. I'll be preparing a cost analysis chart that we can work from. More goes into the decision on who will weave the fabric than just cost, of course.

With that, I think that this thread is completed and I request that the moderators lock the thread down so that no further infractions may take place.

As a non Face Book type person, I wonder Alan, what weight of cloth are you thinking of getting the winning tartan woven in? It could be an important consideration for some, perhaps?
