A good friend of ours gave us the material many years ago and it is heavy weight. Yes it is Douglas, although our friends weren't Douglas by name. Not sure how they acquired it really. Still its been put to good use and I'm pleased I have re found it.

Bah,, who needs belt loops anyway?

Hey, can *I* come over and look around your attic, too?

I agree with Alan H about the belt loops: in fact I have started taking them off my kilts, and I won't be including them in any kilts I make for myself. The lower strap and buckle on the right side are coming off too. But of course, to each his own; and well done for the attic find, it looks terrific. Further bonus too, if your waist size has not changed through the years since construction began!

Well thats where I'm confused. I read that the Welsh family tartans aren't proper tartan because the sett is different, it is rectangular, rather than square. So I don’t know if its tartan or not.
