Having a bit of experience in "Loss Prevention" I know that women have long used skirts and dresses to cover shoplifted goods...there have been some amazing stories over the years of microwave ovens and other large goods found hidden under skirts. Since our kilts are a type of skirt it makes good sense for Loss Prevention staff to be alert if a man in a kilt is acting suspiciously in their store... Methinks the crook was just taking his lead from all the skirted lady shoplifters plying their trade...
