To the best of my knowledge George has never worn a kilt. He's probably been advised not to, out of concern for the health of any ladies out there with weak hearts, as it would surely be a fatal combination!
Apparently once in a movie...can't remember which, and I believe it was for a wedding scene. My wife would know!!

I might be be rockin' a similar "look" at a local music celebrity's End-Of-Summer party this evening. My variance will be different color hose and a black leather vest in place of the PC. (But I certainly won't get any media coverage like that.)
The black leather vest will make all the difference to the look but probably not to the media coverage.
If you are going to do it, do it in a kilt!

I'm always interested in accents and accent-switching, probably because my family moved from deepest darkest Appalachia to California when I was a kid, and my sisters and I quickly found out that a West Virginia accent won't do here. After many years in California, people often take me for a native Californian, except for native Californians who will notice odd things. If I get into a conversation with my Mom on the phone, or other relatives, or go back to visit, I can discover how unstable my California accent really is.
David Tennant is of course a Scot, but had to do an English accent for Dr Who. He did get to use his real accent in one episode AFAIK when he meets Queen Victoria in Scotland. In Broadchurch he can be a Scot, very cool. For Gracepointe will he be doing an American accent? Hugh Lawrie is brilliant at doing an American accent, and I wonder how Tennant's will sound.
Many don't realise that John Barrowman (in Series One of the revived Dr Who show) is also a Scot. Having moved to the USA as a youth, he deals with the same issues I do. Here ya go

Ever follow the Accent Tag things? They're pretty cool.
Here's a Scot, an Australian, and a Californian. What strikes me over and over is how the Scot and Californian are closer to each other, mainly because both are rhotic but also because of many vowels agreeing. But these aren't 'pure' accents because these people appear to be influencing each other
