THCD nightmare by some drummers

For a group of High School kids I have to say Well Done!.
A good performance. Well thought out and executed choreography. I can't critique their drumming, but for what this is and was supposed to be, a very good job.

But I seriously doubt I'd use the acronym TCHD for this thread. These guys are not, and probably never intended, to emulate Highland Attire. The t-shirts, runners and kilts worn low are very good examples of wearing a kilt as it can be worn today. Almost Tartan Army in the approach.
We have to remember that the acronym TCHD is only used here on X Marks where it was invented. No one else would know what in the world it means.

And we really should not ridicule or laugh at the kilts worn backwards. This is a stage performance, they may have worn the kilts backwards on purpose.

Nice drumming, but that's as far as my charity extends. I'm going to call it how I see it. I reckon they just plain don't have a clue and couldn't be bothered to Google how to do it properly. Hardly "very good examples of wearing a kilt" by any standards, if you ask me.

Um...guys, that little video is not about "the kilt". It's about being young, cool and a drummer. You hear all the girls screaming in the audience? THAT is what the video is all about. The guys are good drummers. They're probably drummers in a pipe band. They know how to wear a kilt.

Pleats on backwards, no socks, t-shirts hanging out, no sporran? Relax. It's silliness, nothing more.

We here on X Marks are kilt obsessed. EVERYTHING must be judged on how the kilt is presented. Those lads are doing something completely different and the show would be the same if they were wearing paisley ballet tutus.

Well said Alan. We need to remember that not all kilt wearers want to dress in what here is called TCHD. Even here only a small percentage of our members ascribe to these rules.

These kids are not trying to emulate these rules so let's cut them some slack and enjoy their talent.

Whilst I do agree with what you and Alan say about the young drummers. My goodness they are good and fun to watch!

Where I take issue with you and I confess a certain amount of disappointment here, is when you talk about "rules" in THCD. A considerable amount of time and effort(partly at your behest I must add) has recently been spent in explaining that "rules" are not what THCD( admittedly an xmarks term) is about. Conventions, guidlines, and personal flair there certainly are and encouraged, but "Rules" there are not and considerable effort has been spent debunking this "rules" thinking about THCD. Is this talk about THCD " rules" a slip of the tongue on your part, I wonder?

Well, frankly, if a person calls what these kids are doing a "TCHD nightmare" and then later says "couldn't be bothered to Google how to do it properly". Then yes, TCHD is being held up as some sort of standard. A standard where there is right and wrong. So yes, my use of the word rules is appropriate in this case.
