    Interesting fabric found today

So, mom sent me to town so i could get out of the house and go searching for cheap fabric to make a kilt out of. While at walmart, I found some...interesting fabric. Judging by the weight/texture I assume its meant to be used for out-door furinture type things. Click image for larger version.

I'm not gonna lie. I'm half tempted/half curious to see what a kilt would look like in it. Unfortunately I'm leaning on mom's generousity for material; and found a perfect heavy khaki-weight material on sale for 2$/yd and I highly doubt i could swing getting both (the red shamrock is 2.50/yd) but still; I saw it and just had to share it....thoughts? LOL

I think it's rad. Tell ya what...you send me your measurements and that fabric and I'll sew it up into a kilt for you. It'd be seriously fabulous, that's for sure.

JD, I would jump at Ratspike's offer. I have seen his work and it is, in a nutshell, excellent!
Studies have shown that women who gain a few pounds live longer than men who mention it.

If i can get my hands on the money for the material, i think I will take you up on that rat! At the very least it would be a festive kilt for holiday parties

We may start a Holiday tradition to replace the Holiday Sweater.....

I was wondering if "Wally-world" was targeting the Canadian-Irish when this pattern was added to their shelves. I am up for the holiday kilt challenge per Hawk's hint. Liberate the free-thinkers from their bonds!

Kinda sad but now I'm thinking of digging out my santa hat and wearing it anytime i wear that kilt in december. lol I don't even like christmas but *Shrugs* Its too perfect lol
And an awesome update--my cousin is gonna pay me to help them cut down a tree and then mow her yard. I should get enough to get that material and ship it to rat. SUPER excited to own my first kilt! SO excited in fact that I'm thinking it could be an occasional casual kilt as well as festive holiday one. Heh I may be too excited, oh well. KILT
