Those in the second photo appear to have been caught in the act of 'Polis tipping'. The traditional highland art of rocking a Police vehicle until it flips on its roof.

Aye. It' like coo tipping but with the payoff of a free room for the night with her majesty's compliments. Lol.

Alright then, is that DetroitPete in the picture smoking the pipe? I well remember discussing a whole heap of things with DP? and a group of others there. A great bunch with a great sense of humour. Actually, I rarely go to Highland Games, but I was there to meet up with xmarks member azwildcat. Hence the bonnet and dandelion. Sadly I failed with that mission, but I did meet up with a great bunch of people from all over the world. Just so you know, in normal circumstance with the weather as it was, I would not have worn a bonnet, but as a "dandelion holder" it works well, -----------------apart from the fact that DP failed to notice it!
Anyway DP, if that was you, it was nice to meet you!

Yes Jock, that was myself I was intently listening. I also found myself many times during this trip, so amazed and beguiled at my surroundings, that I fear I did not speak much--except for the occiasional self questioning as to HOW I managed be be fortunate enough to not only compete at the MWC again, but to spend a week in Scotland. People ask me what it was like, and I am still too dumbstruck to find the proper words. I had the fortune of being in Inverness for all of the events scheduled around the games; made a side trip to Culloden and finished up in Edinburgh. This was simply the experience of a lifetime.

Well blow me down! How about that? Anyway, I am glad that you had a great time and we managed to lay on some very un-Scottish September weather too! Apart from your good self and azwildcat, were there any other xmarkers present at the games? Here's to a longer conversation next time!

Pictures like this make me wish I'd gone back for the MWC!
That's TWO Highland Games for you this year, Jock!
