First kilted fishing trip - kilt review

Well, the new kilt from Geoffrey in Saikot has had it's inaugural outing, and it was my first time fishing in a kilt as well.
Went to a rather nice lake in Hampshire and spent a sunny day relaxing and enjoying the countryside. The only things to mar the traquility were Chinook helicopters training in the area around the lake with 3 load slings, and an hour or so of a drag hunt going on (no foxes involved just a guy running along leaving a scent trail).

    Anyway, on to the review...
It's comfortable, very comfortable, and even without a belt and the pockets loaded up, it still stayed up.
The pockets held everything I needed when I was stalking with room to spare. Did a little test and even with the pockets fully loaded, the flaps stayed closed when climbing around.

The freedom of movement when kneeling to land fish was far greater than when trousered so I'll be wearing the kilt for any other trips where weather allows.

The straps allow very easy adjustment to size and with two press studs, hold the kilt very securely and comfortably. Even with all the stretching and bending associated with fishing, it gave me no problems.

The D-rings allow plenty of extra kit to be clipped on - handing for clipping on a collapsible landing net..., and even with a fair amount of loading the kilt stays up and is comfortable as it spreads the weight around the hips making it ideal for bushcraft or rambling on the hills.

The material is tough and surprisingly gentle against the skin - I had anticipated some chaffing, but no, it didn't chafe and I did a fair amount of moving around in it.
In the morning when it was cool, I was nice and warm, and in the heat of the afternoon, I was nice and cool.

Its tough, rugged, functional, stylish and everything I could have wanted. My only complaint was that I found the front apron a bit narrow, probably becuase I'm used to wearing tartan kilts, but none-the-less, definitley a good buy! Just need to start saving up for my next purchase from Hassan now...

Sorry there's no pics, but my camera decided to go on the fritz which I didn't discover until after I got home...the wonders of modern 'technology'...

Thanks for the "info-mercial". I'm sold! Sounds like a great success and a lot of fun.
