Many congratulations upon your elevation, Nathan. The Clan Donald is very lucky to have you and I have no doubt that you will be exceptionally successful in your new post.

Thank you for your photos as well. It was particularly good to see you with your Dad. He must be very proud of you.

    Only the best.

    Congratulations.

Great post of your visit. "The Mabou Pioneers" records many of the originating clans. I don't know the current update volume but it's update is relatively recent. We've known it as 'the book' that traces the familes back to their Scotland origins. Mabou itself is a cradle of Celtic culture which also flows through Inverness county and the rest of CB. So to is the Acadian culture. A true gem for those of us fortunate to call it home, and to the countless visitors. Thanks for the opportunity to experience it once again.

You grew up in Mabou? It's about time we had another Caper on here!

Grew up closer to the causeway in Craigmore/Judique, but travelled through and visited relations in Mabou often. Kilts, fiddles, the pipes are very much formative. Even learned some Gaelic as the second language in grade school.
Capers are a bit like Scots, I find. They're everywhere

    Judique on the floor!

Are you also Clanranald? I took some Gaelic in Highschool in Sydney, too!

Do you step dance or play an instrument?

Congratulations on your recent appointment! Thanks for sharing your cool photographs. I have always wanted visit Nova Scotia mainly because of its direct link to Scotland.

I can't imagine you would be disappointed - perhaps only if you don't give yourself enough time to truly enjoy it.

Who will take him off ?!!

Yes, Clanranald (maternal). My dear mother would wish I could do both Though I can hold my own in an Inverness square set. She was quite pleased to see me in the tartan kilt this past summer.

You are very fortunate. This is my favorite part of the world. If the powers that be would allow it, I might be living on Nova Scotia or Cape Breton right now. But alas, I'm an American, over 50, and not a doctor or blessed with 5 or 600 Thousand Dollars to loan the government.
Si Deus, quis contra? Spence and Brown on my mother's side, Johnston from my father, proud member of Clan MacDuff!
