I got it to work in IE, Chrome and Firefox (I work software quality). What may be happening is that, depending on the size of his display, he doesn't see any change because the top of the two pages are identical. On my laptop, I have to scroll down to see the tartans. So it may look to him like he just went to the top of the same page.

And it'll work natively on mobile and tablets as well...
