For casual everyday kilt wear I mostly go with a t shirt . I tuck the shirt in making sure the print is high & not going into the kilt . Polo shirts work too .

Or I wear a button up shirt with a vest cause vests are snazzy .

Footwear & flashes or no flashes depends on what I am doing that day .

As a small side question, what is that lovely tartan Steve is wearing in the "car show" and "tour guide" photos?

Ah! I'm sure Steve will correct me if I'm amiss, but I do believe it is the Hudson's Bay Company tartan.

Hello and a warm welcome to X Marks!

Everyone has a personal style that he or she is comfortable with , be true to yours and you'll do well.

In my case I tend to be conservative in my day to day choices. This time of year in North Dakota it's solid color flannel shirts that compliment the kilt of the day with complimentry kilt hose. Depending on whether I'm wearing a pull over sweater or not I do or don't wear a belt. Since it is an old ingrained habit my leathers are the same color with rare exceptions. For dress occasions I wear either an Argyle or tweed jacket with or without waistcoat again with a solid color dress shirt. My ties are usually solid color chosen to go with the shirt and kilt. Occasionally I'll wear the balmoral or a glengary to in black to top it all off but it's a take it or leave it thing with me.

Well that gives you an idea of my style, but as I said in the beginning go with your own style and things will be fine. Remember there are no "Kilt Cops"!

    Rick M,

The Tartan I am wearing in the two photos you reference is indeed the Hudson's Bay Company Tartan (HBC for short)

I did an entire thread about this Tartan when I first found it. - http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=30049

This is one of my favorite Tartans. I have, what Gordon Kirkbright the designer, says, are the only bolts of this fabric in private ownership in the world.
This Tartan is usually reserved for authorized vendors of "The Bay" only. I guess it is good to have the cell phone number of the designer.
