Masonic accessories?
To start, until I find full-time work my only kilt is a black 5.11 model, and I have a SWK Nightstalker nylon sporran I have corded to the front. No other accessories, I just mix street clothes when I go to Renn Faires. I'm also a very, very active Mason involved in almost every section of the fraternity. I'm gone at meetings a few nights a week, very passionate. For a 'Widow's Sons' (Masonic Bikers) event, I wore my kilt but stuck a masonic lapel pin on the front of the sporran. It...worked, but I yearned for something more substantial. Nothing too flashy or loud, just present and proud. I may eventually own a USA Kilt as well when I can afford it, for more formal occasions to mix with my suit jackets.
What are some ways to show my affiliation, without being too tacky or gaudy? This also has to take place on a very tight budget, I can't afford a real wool kilt nor a serious sporran, so note my spending limits.

A very cost effective way to show your affiliation is with a kilt pin.
About $25-$30
Something like this would be simple, understated and elegant.

Any shop that carries the Gaelic Themes line would have this in stock or be able to order this exact pin for you.
Most Kilt Pin makers do a similar design.
There are hundreds of Masonic themed items available as kilt accessories.
Take a look at just this one site for more ideas.

In the US there are many ways you can display affiliation to the Craft than we would normally do over here.
There is a Widows Sons chapter here but they don't seem to wear kilts when riding, possibly for health and safety reasons. They often have a S&C patch sewn on their leathers though.
Certainly a kilt pin as illustrated above would go well with a kilt, especially in Lodge. You can also get some lovely hose with the S&C folded over at the top.

I've got a little lapel badge that I intend to wear on my jacket (I haven't had occasion to wear a jacket since I got it) The kilt pin is a good idea, I've also considered a ring but haven't gotten around to it.
I wouldn't want to go over the top with too much bling.

Just every kilt retailer has masonic stuff to go with. Just do a keyword search within the website of your favorite for the word masonic or freemason. I'm including a link or friend Rocky's Masonic accessories at USAK http://www.usakilts.com/kilt-accesso...s/masonic.html

One really cheap way to make yourself yourself a kilt pin is to get a blanket pin, get a masonic button (if there are such things) or a masonic badge of some sort and glue it the blanket pin. I use two part epoxy.
Here are two pins I made using my old uniform buttons. Cost me just my time as I had everything at home. Cheers
