Glenfiddich 2014 -- piping fashion talk, anyone?

    Here's the stream link -- http://www.thepipingcentre.co.uk/livestream/

    Everyone looks great.

Any thoughts on Ian Spiers black on black shirt-jacket combo? It reminds me of the late '90s fashion embodied by the guy who hosted the show Who Wants to Be A Millionaire.

Now as far as piping fashion goes, here's a pic from Pipes/Drums

Pipers' dress has got darker recently with black or other dark hose becoming the norm, paired with black or charcoal Argylls. The black shirt look seen here is fairly commonly seen amongst solo pipers.

I started this thread a while back looking at Glenfiddich competitors from the 1980s till more recently

but for quick visual comparison here's 1986, with more variety in the jackets and many pairs of white hose

In 2005 look at all the nice tweed on display

These gents have obviously discovered email to coordinate their attire for photos. As long as they are piping I toast them, Well Done!

And note all the poppies being worn on the right hand side so as not to get squashed by the base drone.
