cold...
I love the cold...dinna bother me at all (I'm the guy who runs the AC in hotel rooms at full blast, even in winter -- I'd do it at home, but the wife would have something to say about that!
The whole purpose of the kilt is to keep cold away from your mid-section -- where all of the organs are -- with a piece of heavy wool tightly wrapped around that area, you do stay warm -- and the knees are mostly bone and cartilidge (sic?), so not much to get cold there.
I have thought about making a pair of wool leggings, a la the French in Canada and Native Americans wore in the 1700's to wear with my kilt at times in the winter -- There is documented evidence that the Black Watch and others did wear these in the French & Indian War.
Cheers,
T.
