    kilt forms

I'm not sure how everyone manages without a kilt form--I made one of my own! You can see a picture of it here:

For me, there's a point in the process where it switches from a science to an art. That's when I like to have the kilt form, to make sure that the taper is correct, check the position of the pockets and final pleats, space out the belt loops, etc. But it sounds like maybe I'm the only one!

So there ya' go--I just saved you twenty bucks!

It all makes so much sense to me. Dress makers use them after all. It's the hanging of the pleats as you , Rocky and Jimmy said that seem to be the big issue.

I don't now why anyone would think it strange to actually have the real McCoy to work with.

I too have and use a kilt form. My is made from shapes cut from a sheet of dense foam rubber I happened to have around and mounted on the base of an old fan.
What we were debating was the usefullness of a customer sending a human form in the mail.
Customers...send us your measurments, we will set up our forms to those measurments. Same thing, but without the postage.

    I wear the kilt because:
    Swish + Swagger = Swoon.

I just swap out one form for the next size up or down. I kilt form also serves as a display stand.
Like I said, I had the foam laying around, A LOT OF IT. so now I have one shape for each size.

I just want to pause for a moment to welcome Jeff from Pittsburgh Kilts to the forum.

Greetings and welcome from a Homewood/Brushton expatriate.

    BINGO!

So there IS someone out there that gets it!!!

I can tell you where my next purchased kilt is coming from! With all the outstanding comments that I've heard about Pittsburgh Kilts, NOW I understand it!

I only wish that a few others had that sense of care.
