USMC Day Sporran
I have been searching everywhere for a suitable daywear sporran to wear with my USMC tartan kilts to no avail. I have found several dress sporrans with a USMC theme, but not a plain simple day sporran like I am wanting. So I decided to make my own.
I wanted something plain, with no frills or tassels, simple and to the point. But I couldn't decide on the color, so I made one of each in black and brown.

Wow ! Very nice .
What pattern did you use for the body of the sporran ? Might try that myself . Also , what type of leather did you decide to use ?

By "made" do you mean that you added the pins to existing sporrans?

Yes that's what looks 'right' to me, because that's what the Highland regiments have long done, worn plain dark brown sporrans with a regimental badge attached to the front of the sporran.
The ones currently worn by The Royal Regiment of Scotland are widely available and inexpensive

A person would only need to attach the badge of their liking, be it USMC or US Army or what have you.
Properly, such sporrans are worn with this sort of uniform, called No2 Dress. I can imagine the USMC green jacket being cut away to work for this.

Very fine work indeed. I am contemplating a new sporran, and like the idea of "no tassels" - not sure why, but it looks really good!

They both look good, I have to say that the brown one really looks good with the gold insignia.

I like both.
I wear my USMC jump wings on a plain black Roy Roy style sporran made by Turpin, since I have the EGA on my belt buckle (its the same plate as worn by drill instructors, but I wore it as a member of our base color guard). Consequently, I wear a black belt and shoes instead of the brown (all that USMC training that was drilled into me demands uniformity  ).
