One more kilt, look out Hamish!

Only kidding, I'll never catch HIM up

But I was pleased to see two more USA Kilts arrive today, one for my son (his first kilt) and one for me.

I will post some piccies when I can, but the kilt is my first USAK philabeg. It's Gunn tartan (tartan Rules!!!!!) and as usual - fits perfectly!!

Gunn is a "safe" tartan for me, it always looks good, you canna go wrong!

    Initial reaction
    I like...
    the sturdy way it's made.
the quick release velcro (handy at times )
    the full, traditional length
    the fit
    the comfort
    the freedom from trousers
    the price
the fact that my wife likes it

    Not sure about....

stitched pleats (while recognising the benefits)
lack of fringe on apron (adds to cost, I know)

That's seven kilts I now possess, one for each day of the week.

Well done Rocky and the lovely Kelly, another fyne contribution to freeing a poor soul from the Tyranny of Trousers!!

My first outing in this new kilt was a walk along a wide deserted and sandy beach with my wife and my dog.

    Now who could want more?

    Graham,

You are certainly trying to catch up with Ham as far as kilts are concerned!

    CONGRATULATIONS

How does your son like his?

    Thanks Glen.

Daniel, my son, lives in the south of the State, I've repackaged the kilt and will send it off in the morning.
    It's a nice tartan, he'll be pleased.

I called him to say it had arrived, he said "great, just in time for exams!!"
(he's at Uni, I guess he'll sit the exams in it and pass for sure!)

The bad news is that in order to preserve my marriage, this may be the last kilt I order for at least .......2 months haha!

Congrats on the new pleats! So has your wife actually changed on the issue or has she just become used to it.?

She's coming around Blu, I actually gave her the choice of what tartan, she likes Gunn so I knew I'd be safe

thanks Rob, you know, I don't care what the purists say, kiltmakers like USAK, Bear, Southerncelt etc make it possible to afford a few kilts for many of us.

They may not be pure, hand stitched Scottish wool (much as I would love to have such a kilt), but it means more kilts on bums out there in the community.

Graham, I couldn't agree more! If this site is any indication, the wearing of the kilt for more than traditional events is slowly growing. A kilt for every occassion.
