    No notion, Nathan.

It may have been lost in a software shuffle; I hope that's the only reason. I've subscribed to the thread so that I'll have access to it in the future; it far exceeded my expectations for the discussion when it was initiated.

Indeed it would be a tragedy if this thread was consigned to dwell in obscurity.
Where else given the current situation with the Traditional section can newbies find the information many are seeking to pay due respect to the traditional wearing of highland attire?

Please can this thread be reinstated with a sticky or is there something more malevolent going on?

I rather liked having the piece easily found. I suppose if you're new then you will have to search for traditional highland civilian dress infomation.

Good, but in the interests of openness it would be nice to know why the sticky was removed in the first place?

Because sometimes stickies go away for no apparent reason.
There used to be four stickies in this thread. One even written by me. They all went away.

I don't know when but no one seemed to even notice until this latest hullabaloo.

But I guess some will always look for evil intent and conspiracy behind everything.

As the OP, I received an automated message from the forum owner's account notifying me of the de-stickification on November 23rd at 9:34 PM. I certainly noticed, but didn't get around to looking into it until the "hullabaloo." I guess all software can be buggy, eh?

That was simply an automated message only to the OP from the admin account. (admin@xmarksthescot.com) )Just like you get when someone adds to a thread you are subscribed to. I did not even get a copy of that message so did not know it happened. If I set up the software to send me copies of all the admin, automated emails I would be getting hundreds each day. One for everyone who has an anniversary, and one for every time someone adds to a thread. I already get copies of every error the software notices such as an email returned due to a bad email address. those are generated by the web software account. (webmaster@xmarksthescot.com)

It did not come the Forum Owner's account. That would be steve@xmarksthescot.com

I'm just glad everyone agrees that this thread should remain a sticky.
