Nick, It's good to see another man with "appropriately" sized feet (I don't know how those small-footed men keep from falling over on their faces!).

I'm looking around for a buckled brogue to wear to a formal and can't find my size anywhere.

I'm a 15 or 16 depending on the shoe. However before I complain too much, I remember the days of scrounging shoe stores with my mom just to find ANYTHING that fit and watching the clerks giggle as they shook their head. So, all I can say now is "Thank you Internet!!"

I remember when I was in Grade 4 going from a size 4 girls to a size 10 womens in 4 months with the widest footbed we could find - I now wear a 6E width if I can find them.
My parents and I were on a first name basis with the owners of a footwear warehouse - the only one in Toronto at that time. We were there almost every weekend for new shoes.
Loved my desert boots! - only I knew that they were mens boots. Hard being a girl and having to wear mens shoes and boots all the time because that is the ONLY thing that fits.

Would have loved to be able to wear nice feminine shoes - NOT 3-6" spikes! though.

Still having a challenge due to the width of my foot, but so much easier than when I was a kid. Still have to wear men's boots, but I now know that the value of well made mens boots. My 10 year old $450 Finn Comforts sure beat my daughters $200 fashion boots that never last more than 2 years.

And , yes, I was called 'duck foot' because of my wide feet.

Dehner Boot Company could make you a monk strap shoe in your size, and I suspect would put Celtic themed buckles on them if you asked. I've been toying with the idea. I've located some neat buckles that could work. They wouldn't pass for a dressy "tradtional" buckled shoe, but would be an acceptable substitute to my way of thinking. My feet aren't huge, but are size 13, It seems most of the nicer Highland footwear isn't made in sizes larger than 12, so I'm considering options.

My kilt arrived today, and of course it arrives on a day I work. Pictures will be posted around 9pm EST.
