Hi Rolgiati! Welcome to X Marks from lower, slower, Delaware, USA. As you have discovered, the answers to your kilt wearing questions can be found right here.
Glad you chose to join the kilted rabble and look forward to your participation.

Simon Fraser fought as MacShimidh, a Highland chief… wrapped and belted in a plaid over the top of his linen shirt, like his ordinary kinsmen. He put a bonnet on his head, and stuck the Fraser emblem, a sprig of yew, in it. With the battle cry, A'Chaisteal Dhunaidh and the scream of the pipes, they charged to battle. Well met orlqiati. I had to explain to my wife what you were talking about, (dirk-frog). She had visions of poison arrows. Welcome from Oxford, MS. USA

Hi, Rolgiati, and welcome to X Marks from the bottom end of Africa.
Your profile picture is a little strange, since it incorporates a breach of the heraldic colour rule. Is it a design of your own making?
Regards,
Mike

With due respect, what is it you find objectionable ? Gules on azure ?
In that case I beg to remind you that the rule that a colour must never be placed on another colour does not apply where a charge of one colour overlies a differently coloured partition of the field ;-3)

Certainly the rule does not apply where a charge of one colour overlies a differently coloured partition, but the upper tower barely crosses the line, and in many renditions would not do so at all.
I did ask whether it was of your own making. And it is also strange to see a helmet without a crest on top of it.
Regards,
Mike
