Simon Fraser fought as MacShimidh, a Highland chief… wrapped and belted in a plaid over the top of his linen shirt, like his ordinary kinsmen. He put a bonnet on his head, and stuck the Fraser emblem, a sprig of yew, in it. With the battle cry, A'Chaisteal Dhunaidh and the scream of the pipes, they charged to battle. Hi, Rolgiati, and welcome to X Marks from the bottom end of Africa.
Your profile picture is a little strange, since it incorporates a breach of the heraldic colour rule. Is it a design of your own making?
    Regards,
    Mike

With due respect, what is it you find objectionable ? Gules on azure ?
In that case I beg to remind you that the rule that a colour must never be placed on another colour does not apply where a charge of one colour overlies a differently coloured partition of the field ;-3)

Certainly the rule does not apply where a charge of one colour overlies a differently coloured partition, but the upper tower barely crosses the line, and in many renditions would not do so at all.
I did ask whether it was of your own making. And it is also strange to see a helmet without a crest on top of it.
    Regards,
    Mike

No, it is an old family one.
