Our local Little Theatre groups sometimes 'cleans out the wardrobe closets' and will sell excess items (got some great fabric a few weeks ago) - there are always fur coats which can't be used on stage because they are too small. People donate Grandma's fur coat because no one in the family can wear it - women used to be much more petite than they are now. Don't forget to check out stoles or fur collars. They would be perfect for your purposes, also.
Get out the yellow pages and check out theatre/little theatre groups. When you call, ask to speak to the Wardrobe Mistress or whoever is in charge of costumes - be prepared to wait for a return call, they are all volunteers who do this for fun. If they have something, offer to make a donation to the group - they can always use a little more cash. Or perhaps you can barter some of your skills, making props for them or building/painting sets...

You might try checking out church rummage sales, I usually see quite a few there because most of the younger set do not want to wear real fur. Estate sales may be another option. Keep thinking outside of the box.

Good luck finding that perfect mink.

This is my next MoD cantle sporran that I just finished. Looking back, I hadn't made a full leather sporran so I figured I would make one for day wear. It's somewhat simple but I like the look.

I like that one. Good looking leather and a classic daywear look.

Those are both very nice. A great reuse of fur! The second one... love the plain simple lines. I am a big fan of brown leather as well.
