Space Kilt
How many of you remember the old Lost in Space TV show? Yes, I know... it was pretty campy, corny and barely qualified as science fiction - but was still fun to watch regardless.
Well, there is one episode of Lost in Space that deals with a trip to Scotland, wherein Will Robinson and Dr. Smith encounter a kilted, red bearded Scot named Hamish who also happens to play the pipes. Does a good job of it, too (the actor's name is Sean McClory). Sounds bizarre, I know - but I have all the Lost in Space episodes on DVD and remembered the one about a trip to Scotland from the planet the 7 castaways lived on. Pulled it out and watched it for the first time in years. Fun to watch, even if it is corny.
If you wanna see this episode, you can see it online at this address:

Enjoy...

So let me get this straight. They were lost on a planet and unable to get back to earth, but somehow took a highland vacation? Do I have that right? ROFL

Very true. After bouncing around the galaxy for a season, they once landed on Venus, and still couldn't find Earth. I'm guessing their GPS needed a update.

I do believe that Scotty's tartan is one of the Scott tartans, well done Star Trek.

yes, Lost In Space. I was around eight when that show came on the air. Thought is was the greatest show on television at the time. I have the first season on DVD but did not get the others. Stupid show it was but when your eight and love science fiction that was about as good as it got back in the day.
