Hi David,
I removed the "D" ring hanger and have fed the strap (please don't call them "Sporran Belts", Guys!!) through the 'slot' previously occupied by it. Should I ever decide to wear a sporran chain with it, which I doubt as the sporran is gorgeously informal, I'll simply refit the "D" ring hanger!
By the way, another 'plus' for me as provided by your sporran is the "clacking" of the horn 'tassels' as I walk. It is such a refreshing change from the dull "thump" of leather tassels!!
