Address...
Graham,
I started to parody it myself, but I got a sudden case of writer's block...
I do have an Aussie version..."Address to the Sausge":
"G'day, ya great big bonzer thing,
Of all the snags, you are the king!"
I'll see if I can find that...
Cheers,
T.

Leather seats, man. I spray my seats with teflon, and just slide those pleats across.... My sporran goes to the side before I get in, too, otherwise it gets in the way of the steering wheel.

I have mixed feelings about it. I wear mine only about 1/3 of the time. Most of them don't hold that much. They are certainly a nuicsance up front if your walking quickly and the tassles can catch on stuff if your careless. As for appearance, they make the kilt outfit look great, esp. the dress version. Personally, I think they're mostly for show. Also, it's a blazing neon sign that says, "It's not a skirt!!". Certainly a helpful item for those to whom that may be an issue.

I wear one of my sporrans whenever I got out of the house. Gives me a place for my wallet, change purse, keys and smokes.

I have to confess that generally I wear a sporran only when I need to! By that I mean, to formal events when all the accessories are expected, or when I am not wearing a jacket with capacious pockets.
To my way of thinking, I have no need to qualify my kilt by adorning it with a sporran (although there are times when I do! ). With ten of them, I need to get my money's worth back and can only do so by wearing them ...........one at a time, of course

I find it better then pockets also although I don't like to put much in it. It takes a little of the freedom feeling away to have that hanging in front, so when I am around the house or taking walks near by I leave it off. To make sure people see the kilt as a kilt and not a skirt, I wear it in other public venues.
I rarely use the pocket on my AmeriKilt as I also do not like things in my trouser pockets, front or rear.
Having said all that Graham.. I think you ain't busy enough today

nice poem episcopalscot... just the last sentence.. i know u could do better ;)
in fact Glen, i feel also that the sporran dresses up and gives the kilt its spot in the i (don t know if u got similar expression in english)
poeple just look in another, more admirating way when they see a piece of chain coming threw my pullover...
even poeple, or maybe especially poeple knowing me in kilt without sporran.
i don t wear my sporran when i got my rucksack i need at university to get my books in there. on the other hand why not even with a rucksack...
