One for everyone who has an anniversary, and one for every time someone adds to a thread. I already get copies of every error the software notices such as an email returned due to a bad email address. those are generated by the web software account. (webmaster@xmarksthescot.com)

It did not come the Forum Owner's account. That would be steve@xmarksthescot.com
Thanks for the insight into the inner-workings of my favourite website But I didn't get an email, rather it was a PM on Xmarks from your Steve Ashton account with the Forum Owner badge under your name. As I said in my previous post, it was an automated message, which is why you didn't see it.

    Another photo

This was me and my lovely girlfriend at the St. Andrew's Ball. I'm wearing an outfit very similar to this in the earlier pages but this is a much better pic. It also shows a nice equivalent option for a female.

And here I am with the local kilt shop owner who is showing his take on the Price Charlie Coatee.

Folks, If I may please ask - The purpose of this Member Written Article was to put down the definition of THCD for everyone to see and have available for reference.

If you would like to post pics of your THCD outfits or make comments on some of the outfits already posted, may I suggest you start a thread in the Style section of the forum.
That is why it was re-designated.

Let's leave this thread to serve the purpose it was written for, without too many follow on posts. Those coming here looking for the definition should not be made to feel like they must read the 8 + pages already here.

Steve, the reason I started this thread in the Member Written Article's section was because I was concerned that the Traditional sub-forum was in danger. If the Fashion/Style section has now solidified, you can move this sticky to the Traditional area where it belongs.

Furthermore, the famous 1 Kilt 10 Looks thread serves a similar educational purpose, and no-one seems to have a problem with it running 24 pages and counting. With that as a precedent, I don't see a problem with people posting comments and follow up pictures to this sticky.

With all due respect, I'm the OP and I welcome ongoing posts, discussion, and THCD pictures

You are absolutely correct that this is your thread and you can allow it to remain open if you wish.

But I honestly would have expected you to appreciate some respect for your thread and would not want to see it buried under page after page of "nice thread" or "nice outfit". The only reason I posted at all is that some time in the new year I will submit to the Moderators a plan to change this forum section. I would like it to become the repository for those threads which were written to be, have become over time, or are recognized by the members as being exceptionally informative, educational or significant to the forum as a whole.

I will propose that anyone may submit an article for publication and those currently in other forum sections may be moved here.

The decision to accept an article or to move one here will rest with the Forum Moderators.

Once moved here, articles will be closed to preserve the original intent and wording of the author.

It is my hope that others will submit articles such as this, and the 1 kilt 10 looks thread.
Articles which can become a part of this repository of our members' wisdom.

I hope that doesn't happen. It seems like one's reward for creating a really useful thread is to have it filed and catalogued rather than continuing to stay vibrant. Although I wasn't technically the OP because someone has to go first, I'd rather this thread remain a place for people to ask for clarification on THCD, to share examples that support the definitions provided. Like the one kilt ten looks thread, it would be nice for the thread to be open so that people who found it useful could express their feedback.

I too hope that this thread continues in the same vein as the "one kilt ten looks" thread. One cannot fail to observe that this THCD thread under discussion now was, in part, written at the behest of the owner of this website and it does seem to me a tad odd that he now wants to discourage in a permanent way any further discussion on it. Still it is his website after all said and done and he can do as he wishes.

A very useful thread, it answered a question for me regarding shoes. It seems that a pair of well polished oxfords are good for formal wear with a kilt. I was wondering if it was acceptable and am glad to find it appears to be.
