Ah! Then, by your own admission, we 'have' you on another count, Graham! Not knowing this is no excuse, but feeding the pigeons in Trafalgar Square is now illegal.

It's all a matter of public health. The mess was incredible and was a huge problem. The Square is now a delight to visit, especially since the traffic has been rerouted from the northern side and we have new flights of steps sweeping down from the National Gallery. I can see it's high time you returned to your homeland for a visit, so make it in 2005!
Ham, this is a little off topic, so please forgive me. When I was in the navy, My ship made a Med cruise. One of our ports of call was in Venice. Although, I spent most of the time in port trying to jury rig an Antenna for which we had no parts, I did get one night's liberty. I took the opportunity to try a real Italian resturant. Right in front of my table, there was a picture of thousands of pigeons spelling out Coca Cola. It seems that they feed the pigeone in Saint Marks square every day, and some enterprizing Coke ad exec decided to pay them to put the feed out in a pattern to spell Coca Cola.
