Attention Wal*Mart Shoppers.......
This morning I had my hair and beard trimmed quite shart so I thought I'd have some fun strutting my stuff around the local Wal*Mart. There were several compliments, lots of smiles, and one "Nice legs!", which is in the attached photo.
Wal*Mart may not be everyones prefered place to shop, but it's a fun place to strut your stuff even if you don't buy anything.

I just go to the Fox River Mall. Lots of stores and lots of people. Best of all, the food court has some decent chow.

Great Pic Blu, the bearded guy on the left is giving us a classic version of "The Look."
WalMart in my little town isn't a choice, its a necessity. Its all we have. I enjoy going there kilted. Its usually packed with Navajos from the adjoining reservation...I get wonderful looks and smiles.
Will be there again later today, probably in my new AK Tiger Stripe.

A nice 'action' shot, Blu (are members of the Papparatzzi hounding you too? ).
A question I have been meaning to ask for some time: what exactly IS Wal-Mart? I understand that it is a retail area, but is is one large department store (a sort of Main Street Nieman Marcus or Bloomingdales) or is it a number of different retail outlets under one roof? To my knowledge we do not have Wal-Mart here in the United Kingdom, but you guys over there are always mentioning the name. I am curious, that's all!

Why do people shout 'nice legs' to kilted men?
Do they do that to men they see wearing shorts?
I suppose it's an illustration of the extent of their spontaneous wit! (or lack thereof)

I can hear the conversation now, "Honey, you really need to get a kilt, you would look so much better!" His reply...."No way I am not man enough to pul it off!"
Just a thought.
Great shot Blu!

It's one store that sells a multitude of items, from auto supplies to electronics to toys to clothes. Larger stores (Super Wal-Mart) also sell groceries and provide other serives like opticians and hair cutting, all under the same roof. Their business line is to undersell local competitors, which they can do because the Wal-Mart chain has so many stores that they can mark down prices and still make a profit by selling many items across the country. What this does is force local businesses to go under, so many communities don't like Wal-Mart. However, they do sell items for cheap, and they have many items under the same roof, so it makes it very convenient to shop in one spot.

A large US based dept. store chain with huge buying power. The stores are large, one floor (usually), well lit and anywhere from 3/4 to 1 acre in floor area, selling just about everything... clothing, sporting goods, groceries, pharmaceuticals, toys, shoes, hardware and paint, music and movies, housewares, eyeglasses, flowers, automotive and tires, etc. etc. you get the idea. I don't think they sell real estate (yet). Founded in the US earlier this century by one Sam Walton who called his store Walton Market (hence Wal Mart). They've been operating in Canada for 10 years. The stores tend to be shunned by those folks who dislike there presence in smaller communities. They can have the unfortunate effect of out-competing small mum & dad shops.
