Thank you for that JohnAllen. No, I cannot say I 've heard of "Hippo" stores in France, but then I've not been there for something like 18 or 20 years - at least, not into any sizeable towns! I've popped over the Channel a couple of times to stock up at rural wine warehouses on the northern coast in recent years, but that's all. Crazy really - France is only about 65 miles away from where I am sitting, and we can drive through the Channel Tunnel but I've not done that yet!
Please don't go to a lot of trouble - you'll probably need to get prior permission to take photos inside the store. I can imagine what a large warehouse-like retail store will be!
