According to their website and leaflet, the sale does not start until 15th January.
If you are going to do it, do it in a kilt!

I think that the offers are sometimes spread over different weeks in different areas, presumably to help with distribution costs - the website asks for your post code before showing offers for the week.

I was curious about this too, I have a Lidl just around the corner and picked up the leaflet for this Thursday offer. An 8 yard PV kilt for under thirty quid sounds not bad but I wonder if the quality will be any good. I may buy a couple of the Ghillie shirts though and maybe their black and cream hose.

    Here is there leaflet-

However I would say this is probably going to work out well for Lidl. There'll be a lot of people who will buy these for stag do's, fancy dress, Burns night or just to unleash their inner Scotsman.

Then tartans with purple took over especially Isle Of Skye (they even had IOS silk wedding dresses).

Then there was a rage for grey tartans, not quite over yet, like Hamilton Grey and Highland Granite etc etc.

Douglas has been huge the last few years.

What will be next I wonder?
Maybe yellows and bright colours like McCleoud or Buchannan

The offer does not appear to be coming up in Northern Ireland - its not listed on their local site. If this is correct (and it may not be) it would be rather stoopid given that nearly half the population have Scots ancestry.

As last year the offer was only in Scotland and this year it is in England too, perhaps UK wide availability is something they are working up to.

They seem to restrict sales to Scotland. My friend Mike bought a McKenzie tartan when we were in Dumfries for a Burns Supper about 5 years ago.
