Britain's Got Talent Judge, David Walliams, in a Kilt

Came across these photos on Twitter of one of the Judges of 'Britian's Got Talent' (A sort of TV Talent Show here in the UK, I think there is an American Version?) David Walliams, wearing a Kilt on arriving for the tapings in Edinburgh.

I will need to watch the show to find out if he is wearing it in the studio, or just on arriving in Edinburgh.

Let us know your findings after watching the new episode. I expect he'd become too hot under the studio lights for the entire outfit. Maybe he'll lose the jacket and fly plaid for comfort (but TV personalities are in it for the "see and be seen" aspect.)

    Thanks,
    Tom

hmmm... looks odd to me. Note the Pipe Band he's 'fronting' is in the process of striking in their pipes, yet he's already playing/pretending to play. I wonder if he actually plays the pipes; I'll have to check YouTube. EDIT: Here it is. As you can see, at the start the band hasn't started playing yet but his pipes are mysteriously fully inflated with no sound coming out (his pipes evidently being 'corked off' in piping parlance)

I was involved in something similar: I got a call from a PA on Ellen, who explained that as one of her bits of shtick at the start of an episode she wanted to march out playing the pipes. Wisely sensing that this wouldn't happen, he tried to talk her into hiring a pipe band which could march out, with Ellen in the ranks pretending to play. But Hollywood egos are huge, so I was hired to teach Ellen how to play my pipes. She seriously thought that if someone demonstrated how to play, she would be able to immediately do it. She found out otherwise!

Yes that was my first impression too! Complete with the absurdly high-laced ghillies and the waistbelt peeking out under the waistcoat (a pet peeve of mine).

For sure, Richard. Anyone who plays the pipes would know how to tie their gillies (I should hope!). The fellow is game, though. Nice XJ that Simon steps out of!
