    I'm a bit new around these kilted parts, but stepping back from that I'd suggest looking to what the groom/groomsmen are wearing for the day and dress comparably. It's quite typical for the fathers tho follow suit (literally!) in formality. If they're wearing jackets and ties, do the same. If they're just wearing vests, do the same. If they're wearing t-shirts, take the groom aside and have a stern talking to him about his choices in life and remind him that your daughter is VERY special, and he should dress appropriately to reflect that. The same talk should happen if they are wearing Converse All-Stars...

    Love you guys but I am out of the loop on these weddings, however I was asked for $1000 for venue rental today.

    So something like highland day wear is the general consensus for a informal wedding?

    Anderson tartan kilt, with a waistcoat and tie, scrunched down hose with boots
